RIB CHALLANGE - 2010 WEST MIDALNDS A competition designed to attract youngsters into the sport of powerboating. With a first prize of an Avon 5.5m RIB with 40hp Honda four-stroke outboard for the club of the winner. The regional heat will be held at Blithfield SC on the 29th May 2010 starting at 9am with registration and 10am for the main competition. The winners from the West Midlands Region will then go onto Southampton Boat Show, where the National Finals are held on the 12th September 2010.. Andy Felthouse along with Jerry Blyth coordinate the 2010 West Midlands event. A great deal of time is also spent by members within the clubs in promoting this event and preparing the youngsters for their challange day, with hours given up in voluntary training. If your club supports and promotes the Honda RIB Challenge then why not consider hosting the event in 2011.. Contact Jerry Blyth for details of whats required. It's probably less than you think. If your club is not participating in this event yet, then again talk to Jerry or Gareth Brookes to arrange a visit from one of the Regional Developers who can assist the club with their preparation and offer guidance on the insurance and legal matters which some clubs believe is a barrier to participating in the event.
